Abstract

The catalytic diesel particulate filter model was built by using AVL Boost one-dimensional numerical analysis software and the effects of initial soot load, regeneration temperature, regeneration/idle mass flow, regeneration/idle oxygen content and idle entry timing on the peak temperature and peak temperature gradient were investigated. The results show that the peak temperature, peak temperature gradient and the amount of soot reaction increase with the increase of initial soot load, regeneration temperature and oxygen content and decrease with the increase of regeneration/idle mass flow. The peak temperature and peak temperature gradient reach the maximum when entering the idle at the period that both the heat generated by active regeneration and idle residual soot deposition are high, and both decrease later or earlier than the period. And they have a positive correlation with the amount of soot reaction.
