Abstract

The lag and abnormal fluctuation of rail pressure control occur due to the switching of working conditions and the working characteristics of highpressure fuel pump and injector during the operation of diesel engine, which affects the precision of fuel injection control and deteriorates the working performance of engine. Therefore, a rail pressure control algorithm for high-pressure common rail diesel engine was designed based on the principle of fuel flow conservation of common rail pipe and the PID control algorithm of gain scheduling was used to calculate and control the whole engine working condition. Simulink was then used to model and generate code for rail pressure control algorithm, which was integrated into the selfdeveloped controller of high pressure common rail engine, and the engine bench test was completed. The test results show that the rail pressure fluctuation is within ±1.5 MPa under steady-state conditions and within ±2.0 MPa under dynamic conditions. Accordingly, the rail pressure control algorithm has good following performance and response speed, improves the rail pressure control accuracy, and can meet the rail pressure control requirements of highpressure common rail engine.
