Abstract

In order to realize the turbocharger compressor optimization under full operating condition, PseudoMAP compressor optimization method was proposed. The optimization was conducted at three characteristic rotating speeds which represented low, medium and high speed respectively so as to control full performance by limited characteristic operating points. The method was then compared with single operating point and singlespeed multipoint optimization methods to prove its necessity and effectiveness. The differences and advantages of PseudoMAP optimization method were first explained from the aspects of optimization operating point, optimization target, optimization scheme, approximate model, and multiobjective optimization method according to the compressor optimization process. Different optimization methods and schemes were then applied to a specific compressor. According to the optimization results, it could be seen that the PseudoMAP optimization method could achieve a higher control degree of performance at each operating point. Through the setting of optimization targets and the allocation of weights, the performance of each characteristic operating point adjusted in the expected direction, and finally the optimization of full operating condition performance could be achieved. In the end, the feasibility of PseudoMAP optimization method at full operating condition was verified by simulation and bench test.
