Based on the dynamic grid technique and the SST κω twophase turbulence model, the heat transfer of internal oil cooling gallery was numerically calculated, and the variation rules of area coverage rate and convective heat transfer coefficient for different volumes of oil cooling gallery were analyzed. The heat transfer coefficient for inner wall of cooling gallery was extracted and the finite element simulation of piston temperature field was carried out. The results show that the area coverage rate and heat transfer coefficient increase with the volume increase of internal cooling gallery. The volume of cooling gallery has certain influence on the temperature of internal cooling gallery and has little effect on the temperature of piston surface. In addition, the volume of cooling gallery should be designed as large as possible if the structure is permissible.
