Injection pressure had a direct influence on the mixture formation, and the higher injection pressure could reduce particulate emissions. Two kinds of spray simulation models were built using STARCD including the constant volume model and the engine incylinder fuel spray model. The spray model was effectively verified by the spray characteristics visualization test and the effects of injection pressure on spray penetration and Sauter mean diameter were further investigated. The result showed that the higher pressure was more beneficial to improve the fuel atomization and fuel evaporation. The mixture formation was hence accelerated and the distribution uniformity of mixing gas was finally improved.
