Abstract

The emission responses of a heavy-duty diesel engine were studied based on the China Ⅵ standard under different test cycles. According to the comparative analysis of original emission, exhaust emission, working condition and exhaust temperature under the steady-state and transient cycles, American EPA standard cycle and China standard cycle had similar assessment ability, and China cycle and the world harmonized cycle also had similar assessment ability. To a certain extent, LLC cycle could well assess the exhaust temperature rising and maintaining capacity of engine during longterm operation under low load and frequent switching between high and low load, which is a big challenge for the exhaust emission control capacity. A long time hot soak will lead to the lower exhaust temperature of hot start cycle, which is a challenge for the exhaust temperature retention capacity and hot start emission reduction of the posttreatment system.
