Abstract

Different methanol and diesel blends were prepared by mixing methanol at volume ratios of M0, M5 and M10 on the quartz tube flow reactor. The pyrolysis products of blends were collected at different pyrolysis temperatures and methanol mixing ratios. Under different pyrolysis conditions, the variation laws of molar concentration for 12 kinds of hydrocarbon products were studied by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and the variation laws of soot yield and morphology were studied by using microgram balance and SEM. The results show that the change rate for the molar concentration of alkanes and aromatics decreases and the molar concentration of aromatics increases when the pyrolysis temperature is beyond 973 K. Compared with 923 K, the soot yield increases by 1.7, 5.1 and 11.6 times respectively at 973 K, 1 023 K and 1 073 K. With the increase of methanol mixing ratio, the molar concentration of hydrocarbons and soot yield decrease, the average particle size of soot decreases and the molar concentration of ethylene increases. With the increase of pyrolysis temperature, the average particle size of soot decreases and the concentrations of ethane, propane, butane, propylene, butane and butadiene decrease.
