Abstract

The emission test results of 26 China lightduty gasoline vehicles were compared based on the NEDC cycle, WLTC cycle and RDE test. The results show that the conformity factors of CO and THC emissions under different test conditions are generally lower than 0.6 and that of NOx emissions under RDE condition can be appropriately decreased. The PN emission of RDE condition becomes the main focus of China light-duty vehicles, in which the PN emission for the direct-injection gasoline vehicles is relatively high. The PN emission of the direct injection gasoline vehicle under the RDE condition has a strong correlation with the vehicle speed and acceleration and the PN emission mainly concentrates under the conditions with the vehicle speed higher than 50 km/h and the acceleration greater than 0.5 m/s2. The CO and PN emissions during the cold start under RDE condition are relatively high and whether the cold start process is included will have a great impact on the RDE test results.
