Abstract

Series hybrid electric vehicles can combine low-carbon engines such as gas engine and methanol engine with electric drive to effectively reduce carbon emissions, which is an important development direction for road trucks. Series hybrid mainly consists of generation system, battery and drive system, which jointly power supply with the battery to meet the power consumption requirements during vehicle operation. Seeking the optimal power distribution between battery and generation system is crucial for hybrid energy conservation. For a gas-electric hybrid truck, a new hybrid power control method was proposed by fully utilizing the efficiency difference between battery and generation system and combining the load characteristics of road, which could effectively improve the efficiency of power supply system. Compared with rule-based control method, the economy improved by 10.6%.
