Abstract

Ten light-duty vehicles with different fuel and power types that meet the requirements of China Ⅵ-b stage were selected as research objects, including plug-in hybrid, extended-range hybrid, gasoline vehicle, diesel vehicle, and natural gas vehicle. WLTC cycles of plain and plateau were conducted under controlled ambient temperatures in the light-duty vehicle environmental simulation emission laboratory in Ningbo and Kunming, and the emission characteristics of light-duty vehicle pollutants in plateau environment and the influencing factors were studied and analyzed. The results show that, compared to pre-calibration levels, all pollutant emissions of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in charge depleting(CD) mode reduce to varying degrees and meet the China Ⅵ-b phase limits specified in GB18352.62016 after plateau emission calibration. The emissions of various pollutants from plug-in hybrid and extended-rang hybrid vehicles are generally lower than those from light-duty vehicles for gasoline, diesel and natural gas. The change in REESS power during the power retention stage affects the overall vehicle pollutant emissions. The emissions of CO, CO2, THC, NOx and PN from light-duty vehicles of different fuels and power types are predominantly concentrated during the cold start stage. CO2 emissions directly correlate with vehicle operating conditions, exhibiting increased levels during all acceleration segments under WLTC testing.
