Abstract

Based on the high-pressure visual constant volume combution bomb test rig, the atomization characteristics of jatropha oil methyl ester(JME) fuel under highpressure environmental conditions were studied by using a high-speed camera and an optical system. The influencing laws of gas-phase spray penetration distance and spray cone angle were analyzed under different test conditions. The results show that the spray penetration distance of JME fuel first increases and then tends to be stable and the environmental density is the greatest influencing factor when conducting the injection constantly. According to the results, the spray cone angle reaches the maximum under the condition with the temperature of 823 K, the density of 21 kg/m3 and the oxygen concentration of 15%.
