Abstract

The WHSC cycle and WHTC cycle tests were carried out on 277 China Ⅵ heavy-duty diesel engines to analyze the distribution of CO2 emission level under steady-state and transient conditions, as well as the effects of engine displacement and power on CO2 emission level. Based on the formation mechanism of N2O, the WHSC and WHTC cycle test results of 46 China Ⅵ heavy-duty diesel engines were analyzed, and the effects of EGR technology route and engine displacement on N2O emission level were compared. According to the differences of CO2and N2O emission concentrations and cycle specific emissions between different altitudes from 3 China Ⅵ heavy-duty diesel engines, the effect of high altitude on greenhouse gas emission was analyzed. The research results show that the total emission level of test samples can be used as a benchmark for the CO2 and N2O emission limit. The engine displacement has a great influence on the division and practical application of the two limits. The high altitude factor can be ignored for CO2 emission regulation, while its impact should be considered for N2O emission regulation.
