Abstract

Pems tests of city-permitted bus and cityforbidden heavy-duty truck were conducted respectively. Vehicle velocity distribution and acceleration distribution of Pems tests and China heavyduty commercial vehicle test cycles were then compared. The results show that there are 4 peak intervals for velocity distribution and 2 peak intervals for acceleration distribution in the Pems test of bus, compared with 1 peak interval for velocity and acceleration distribution respectively in the CHTC-B cycle. For the truck, the velocity and acceleration distributions show 4 and 2 peak intervals in the Pems test and 1 and 3 peak intervals in the CHTC-HT cycle. Coefficients of the formula used to calculate vehicle specific power are calibrated. Vehicle specific power distribution of Pems tests is further compared to that of China heavyduty commercial vehicle test cycle. According to the results, the vehicle specific power distribution curves have double peaks in the Pems test and one peak in the CHTC-B cycle and CHTC-HT cycle for both bus and heavyduty truck between -2.7 kW/t and 2.7 kW/t.
