Abstract

For the shortcomings of traditional cooling system, it was proposed to use electronic components such as electronic fan, electronic thermostat and electronic water pump to replace the mechanical parts in order to accurately adjust the cooling intensity of cooling system and reduce the power consumption of cooling system accessories. The coolant flow distribution test of engine cooling system, the engine heat balance test and the individual test of fan, pump and radiator were carried out, which provided the basis for the analysis and modeling of cooling system. Then the control elements in Flowmaster software were used to conduct the speed control of pump and fan and the PID control of electronic thermostats or threeway valve with controllable opening and the modeling of high efficiency cooling system was completed. The power consumptions of accessories for the original machine and the high efficiency cooling system in NEDC cycle were compared. The results show that the efficient cooling system has remarkable energy saving effect in NEDC cycle.
