Experimental Research on Driving Adaptability of Lubricant for GDI Engine

Abstract

 
The real-time measurement of temperature and pressure in the inlet and outlet of filter for a GDI engine was conducted with self-designed measurement device. The test results were analyzed to obtain the rule of oil temperature and pressure parameters. It was found that the temperature of lube oil in the filter decreased with the increase of mileage, but the pressure drop through the filter changed drastically at the mileage of around 9 000 km. The test results showed that the lube oil had stable performance within the mileage of 8 000 km and the oil draining interval should be within this mileage range.
