Abstract

Boosting technology promoted the development of ICE in past decades. With the development of electromechanical integration and the integrated application of new technology, new material and new technique, many new boosting technologies emerged. The development trend of ICE boosting technology was first analyzed, the prediction of future development for boosting technology was then conducted and the future technology characters were presented. The assistant boosting technologies of centrifugal compressor such as mechanical boosting, electrical boosting, electricallyassisted boosting and hydraulicallydrived mechanical boosting were tracked and discussed. Furthermore, the application characteristics of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic energy were analyzed, the characteristics of different composite forms for supercharger were studied and  their technology features were compared.  In the end, the feasibility of new boosting application to high power density and large displacement engine were presented.

Key words
