A new-typed drive circuit and its control signal timing for gasoline engine high pressure common rail injector were proposed to achieve precise control of solenoid valve coil current. The system used high and low voltage sources to drive in set periods and there were no additional resistors in the current loop of each phase. The excess energy of coil fed back to the high and low voltage source respectively and the drive circuit energy was recycled to the largest extent. The influence of current ripple on the poweroff delay during the holding phase decreased under the same waveform PWM drive and the consistency of turnoff delay for the solenoid valve improved. Theoretical analysis and simulation experiments verified the feasibility for the new topology of drive circuit.
