Due to the technical requirements of oil-free,
high-pressure ratio, and high flow rate for the intake
system of hydrogen fuel cell stacks, the development of oil-free and efficient hydrogen fuel cell air compressor systems is
becoming increasingly important. The ultra-high speed
oil-free air compressor system can efficiently provide
clean air flow for the stack, therefore becoming a key core component for fuel
cell systems to achieve high power density and efficiency. The key technologies
of the ultra-high speed oil-free
air compressor system include electromagnetic design of ultra-high speed permanent magnet synchronous motor, analysis of ultra-high speed rotor interference, thermal analysis of ultra-high speed permanent magnet synchronous motor, and oil-free dynamic compressed air floating bearing technology. The in-depth research on the key technologies of the oil-free air compressor system mentioned above was conducted, and an
ultra-high speed oil-free air
compressor system with a rated power of 25 kW level was designed and the
prototype trial production was completed based on the flow demand of a certain 150 kW level fuel cell stack. Afterwards,
relevant tests and verifications were conducted on the air compressor system.
The test results show that the performance of the air compressor system has
achieved various design goals and can continue to operate stably. The key
technologies of air compressor system have been verified.
