According to the engineering idea of local strengthening technology, the friction and wear tests of matching bushing and piston pin under three preparation processes were carried out on the friction and wear test bench of oscillating frictional substrate and the preparation process was analyzed to address the wear loss problem of diesel engine connecting rod small end bushing. The test results show that the friction and wear performance of extruded bushings is better than that of spun bushings under the same working conditions in terms of frictional torque, frictional temperature, macro/micro morphology and wear volume, which shows the ability of benchmarking imported bushings. The good overall grain uniformity of extruded bushings is an important reason for the good friction and wear performance of product.
