The variation laws of soot accumulation rate, distribution and particulate matter emissions with working conditions and soot load were studied based on different soot accumulation modes of DPF. The test results show that the stable-relatively soot accumulation curve is fit to prepare the DPF of different soot accumulation rates by controlling the time. It is difficult to prepare DPF with a small amount of soot under the unstable soot accumulation rate conditions. The distribution of particulate matter in the DPF has a strong correlation with the working conditions. Whether for the engine bench test or vehicle test, the distribution of particulate matter is similar under similar steady state conditions. With the increase of soot load, the number and weight of PM firstly increase and then decrease under steady and transient working conditions of soot accumulation.
