Taking a 4-cylinder China Ⅵ vehicle diesel engine as the research object, the emission test system was built. And then the world harmonized steady state cycle (WHSC) and the world harmonized transient cycle (WHTC) of cold and hot cycle were conducted and the emission characteristics of N2O were studied. The results show that the N2O emission of engine is extremely low, but will greatly increase after introducing the aftertreatment system. The N2O emission of WHSC cycle reaches the peak during the process from high load to low load and is very low under idle conditions. The N2O emission of WHTC cycle is very low at the beginning of cold cycle due to the low exhaust temperature, and the N2O emission trends of cold and hot cycle become consistent after 400 s. At the end of cycle, the N2O emission increases with the increase of exhaust temperature and the specific emission of hot cycle is slightly larger than that of cold cycle.
