Improvement of Diesel Engine Performance in Plateau Based on Oxygenated Fuel of Polymethoxy Dibutyl Ether

The performance of diesel engine was analyzed at 0 m, 3 700 m and 4 500 m on a plateausimulated test bench by using two different fuels of diesel and oxygenated fuel of polymethoxy dibutyl ether (DMB100). The results show that DMB100 can raise the lowspeed torque and torque backup coefficient effectively. DMB100 can also improve the specific energy consumption and specific air consumption due to its oxygenrich property. The abovementioned power and fuel economy characteristics of DMB100 were more evident at high altitude. Besides, DMB100 can improve the brake specific energy consumption and peak combustion pressure of diesel engine at partial load. The brake specific energy consumption improves obviously at low load, while the peak combustion pressure improves more obviously at high load.
