Effect of Equivalence Ratio on CNG Engine Power and Emission

In order to study the power and NO emission performance ofincylinder direct leanburn CNG engine under different equivalent ratios, the engine simulation model was established by using AVL Fire. The initial parameters and boundary conditions of simulation were determined by the prototype experiment. The internal relationships between incylinder microscopic threedimensional physical field and combustion pressure and between combustion heat release rate and NO production were found through the simulation. Then the factors of NO rapid generation in CNG engine were summarized and the optimal equivalent ratio range that could improve the engine power and reduce the NO emission was put forward.
